There are some benefits to not knowing what “The Event” was or what life was like before it. Like comedy...

That’s not cat. That is a pan of lasagna. Or Garfield transmuting into a pan of lasagna after fulfilling his oath to the dark gods in which he serves to become what he most cherished.

Or instagram is blocked on his browser. Which is common if you are looking at this site at work that blocks links to social sites like that and twitter. That is why I wish io9 would just screen capture the images from the sites they get their images from instead of hyperlinking them.

Thank you kindly, Nope! I hope your Wisco family will make it through all this. And I know you were joking about Vegas, but I wouldn’t want that for their people either, and I also have friends and family in that city too.

As a being of rational thought and champion of proper quarantine procedures who is outraged by people’s blatant disregard for their own safety, and current resident of said state filled with guinea pigs, I would very much not like to be part of this experiment, thank you very much. I don’t want all of my friends and

Agreed. I would like to think that an invading alien force would have more than two methods of terminating life than just a killer EMP and semi-cyborg dogs. Plus that reveal at the very end of the last episode of the last season of what was in the ship made me literally groan with disappointment. What’s a guy got to

The cyborg dogs were a bit a of a let-down in this iteration of WOTW. As soon as I saw them, I thought “Oh, so the aliens in this world watched ‘Black Mirror’ and Boston Dynamics demo videos as well as coming up with ways to weaponize Nick Cave songs?”

“Ve cut off your Darth son, Kenobi!”

Speaking of the Hellraiser comics, I liked how the comics didn’t have to feature Pinhead at all. They could follow any cenobite and occur at any point in time, which I thought would make for a great anthology show.

I think you could be onto something. Perhaps what pilots this craft isn’t organic at all. I mean, we send unmanned drones to inhospitable areas of earth that can handle maneuvers our bodies wouldn’t be able to endure regularly, what’s to say whatever is in control of this unknown craft isn’t controlling it remotely as

Exactly! I absolutely love allegorical storytelling since there are such pleasing discoveries to be had if one looks at the deeper meaning behind the base story and symbols.

As I was watching the series week to week, I decided to rewatch Ex Machina and Annihilation. In Annihilation, one of the locations the team enters is called “Amaya.” I thought that was an interesting little touch. I looked up name to see what if there was any meaning behind it, and one origin gives it a Spanish origin

I used to hate that as a kid. I remember seeing that GI Joe cartoon and thinking, “seriously? Every single pilot just knows when to bail right before their plane explodes? And everyone is using laser guns and no one gets shot? This is bullshit. The comic is so much better because characters actually died in it.”

Yeah! And Katsu produced the Lone Wolf & Cub films with Tomisaburo! Also, the author of the manga was the screenwriter for the film series, which Tomisaburo called after reading the original manga to tell him that Tomisaburo wanted to not only get his manga made into film and have him write the film scripts, but he

I agree! That episode was fantastic! I don’t know if this falls within the parameters of the article, but the German Netflix series “Dark” deals with some very interesting time issues. I will not spoil it by going into detail if you have not seen it before.

Weird... I literally just rewatched the 6 Wakayama Tomisaburo “Lone Wolf & Cub” films on Monday after I realized that I had the Criterion Collection of it for the past couple of years and I had yet to do so.

Corey WOLFhart! What I have learned from my time in the 80's is there is no downside to cocaine. Period.

I am so goddamned PUMPED! I might have to wear my sunglasses at night unitl then!

I soooooo agree with you, my fellow Wisconsinite! The whole meaning of the title and the core of the story is gutted by giving it that goddamn milquetoast ending! I remember leaving the theater absolutely FURIOUS about it.

Speaking of assassins and film series, check out “Lone Wolf & Cub” if you haven’t already! Six of the best and most brutal samurai films ever!
