All of which is why those who have addopted the acquired privilege model of the dealership feel threatened i guess. Isn't the whole value in capitalism supposed to be about change? When somebody has a better idea, it's supposed to win, that's the theory.

Was "Toad The Wet Sprocket" what happens when you dump Mike Myers off the boat in the swamps of Brittany?

If you put stock in Buzzfeed :

If it weren't so woefully underpowered it would probably get better mileage. Looks like it would be heavy for a 1litre engine to not be working way too hard all the time. But i do like the design. It's millions of miles nicer than a crosstour or a caliber.

No F in way!
I can scarcely believe this happened at all

They're both turbo fours obviously, but it was not certain that the porsche actually delivered compressed air to the manifold. It seems that the outflow from the intercooler comes up from the floor on the right side of the engine so the inlet to the manifold is not visible since there aren't any bodywork-off shots on

I think planes are to be expected. Those people are clearly bad at forethought. But DC is bigger than an area affected by a flight path in that sense, and nobody warns you about motorcades, just hoodlums, and general traffic malaise and, and, and...

Pretty sure they're used slicks from the previous season with screws driven through.

The plot thickens. According to the Racecar Engineering article, the generator can be put to work a la F1 'mguh' aka E-turbo. But that doesn't make much sense looking at the layout. The exhaust from both banks appears to head to one hot turbine, and then is redirected to something or other which has the exhaust tip

So, it's a naturally aspirated engine with a parasitic turbo to maximize juice to the electrics? Interesting. It's like the exact opposite of Manic Beattie, but still with four cylinders.

haha poor Maté english isn't his first language. But i swear there needs to be a proofreader on staff with Gawker/Jalopnik, just to keep things humming.

Now you're talkin!

it says it's in both 6th and 3rd? what?

this! This is what a hot hatch is supposed to be. This is the Abarth i was waiting for. I wasn't expecting the exposed linkages, but i was expecting something a lot closer to this when I first saw the new Abarth. The racing instrumentation and lack of radio gubbins, sigh... Tis a good news day after all!

You're talking about brand new racing equipment rather than jobber NAPA replacements, so the price is entirely expected. They are after all expected to be fitted to >25k engine jobs.

Goodyear's unnamed concept builds on a standard SUV tire with a large central groove to improve rolling resistance by having a reduced contact patch with the road. But as you can see from the thread, this is strictly a concept with intention of being put into production. Yet.

The vents in the rear quarter panels just make the whole damn thing.

Also lighter! And that's always good.

I'm all over the Cactus!
