What? How on earth do I not know anything about being Irish when that’s literally what I am?

Dr Green and the Chief. The Kid Detectives too. It’s Ya Boy Troy is also very under-rated. I don’t know if Jason Mantzoukas is a character, but if he is then him too.
I would say it would take more than “Mexican person wearing a poncho” to cause a firestorm. Some Mexicans do sometimes just wear ponchos, and most people understand that. But what is and isn’t offensive changes with the times and depends on the current social and political climate. Making fun of Mexicans isn’t…
It isn’t as far as I know. I do enjoy totally made up random stereotypes being used for comedy though.
Potato jokes for the most part are more just lazy than offensive. Kind of like jokes about fat Americans, angry Germans, or posh English people. But it was really only one line in the sketch.
“Seer-sha”, “Sehr-sha” and “Sur-sha” are all acceptable, depending on your accent.
Eh, it’s sometimes nice to see that colloqualisms go both ways.
Jesus, who made Donald Clark the leader of the Anti-Craic League? This is the same guy who wrote an article proudly proclaiming how he would not take part in the ALS ice bucket challenge because doing so would make him “a good sport”.
Brooklyn was successful enough, and Lady Bird is still in theatres, but those aren’t exactly her only two film appearances. She was also in The Host, Hannah, The Lovely Bones and Grand Budapest Hotel. I would hazard that most SNL hosts are probably not known by most people in the US though, that’s not really my point.…
“And Irish people have certainly experienced racism.”
If Selma Hayek was the lead actress, she probably wouldn’t do that.
I thought this was one of the best episodes so far. Had plenty more interesting analogies and I like how pretty much all of the characters (except maybe Cartman/Heidi) are portrayed somewhat sympathetically, even if you disagree with the outlook of a certain character, the show makes you at least see where they’re…
And honestly, continuity isn’t even that new when it’s only a 2-parter episode. We had a 2-parter back with Go God Go in 2006.
You know, 95% means that some 5% of critics had to give it a less-than-positive score. A C is not even particularly negative. It’s just average.
That’s not true. He didn’t like the book, but he loves the movie. He came on Kimmel with James Franco and said he watched it 3 times and that he considered it 99.9% accurate.
I get behind the cult of the movie itself. I don’t really get why Wisseau himself seems to be becoming venerated.
What? This movie is sitting with 95% on Rotten Tomatoes. That’s hardly a particularly controversial result. That’s a very high level of positive consensus around a movie and quite frankly, most of the negative reviews are borderline positive. Of the 7 negative reviews, 4 gave actual scores. The scores were C (this…
Nah, it’s got 6 other bad reviews on top of this one. The thing people here don’t seem to get is that a movie having 95% on Rotten Tomatoes (which is about as high as anyone could expect for any movie) means 5% of the reviews came in negative. Those 5% had to come from somewhere.
I don’t really have many movies that everyone loves but I can’t stand. Except maybe Leon: The Professional. Boy, that was a difficult one to get through.
Maybe if we can bust Franco for sexual harassment, it isn’t too late to still re-shoot all of his scenes with Malkovich instead.
