When I heard that, I thought that the show was doing a call back to one of Amy Brenneman's movies, Your Friends & Neighbors. The soundtrack of that entire movie was Metallica as covered by Apocalyptica.

I'm still open to giving EM a chance. He is fantastic actor so hopefully, he can pull this off. Otherwise, you are correct——both of his characters are dull as dirt and the acting has been bad.

Agreed. This was the first episode of S3 that got me into the overall story. Part of me is wondering tho if the episode was so good tonight because Ewan McGregor was not in it.
