My guess is it’s a ferry trip for buses whose trips terminate in midtown but start the next one in Brooklyn and since they have to make the drive anyway, might as well see what suckers will at least cover the gas money.

Tune it. My wife bought a 2015 Edge Sport(same thing as the ST model) with the 2.7L Ecoboost and we tuned it through Unleashed Tuning. On 93 octane it will run toe to toe with an SRT Grand Cherokee. Tune ran $600 with the handheld SCT X4 tuner and the 93/E30 tunes. Its astounding how much power they leave on the table…
