I am having mild nightmares when I imagine trying to buff and wax in those little spaces, however.

IMO that divider is actually nice if you’re taking hard corners. You can press your knee against it and stay centered in the seat. But yeah it does look like a passenger oriented console.

I was kind of hoping our own Congress would say the same thing two years ago

Your average Johnny Bravo is too dumb to operate a manual anyway

Remember, this is the same generation that was eating Tide Pods a few months ago. There’s no hope for our future.

The interior of a 7-series and S-class is head and shoulders above that of a Model S or X. IMO people buying Tesla’s have money, drive themselves and want to be noticed. People buying a 7-series or S-class are wealthy, do not drive themselves and do not want to be noticed.

Only people who are much, much wealthier than you or I

Or stop having children

I’m pretty sure the base trim 718 just comes with milk crates. Seats cost $3,200

Has 47 less hp than the Z4 M40i, 4 less torque (in NA specs)

I’m totally mystified by what they did to this setup. It has 47 less hp but only 4 less torque and has a 0-60 time 0.3 seconds less, even though the two cars weigh about the same.

This is his last season

Just wanted to comment this:

If it makes you feel better about being poor not being obscenely wealthy, I just assumed he was a car dealer.

I’ve also seen them up there in minivans - I can’t remember which, but probably a Pacifica.

I opened this story on Wired this morning and immediately regretted reading it, even wondering how a ‘reputable’ site like Wired would pick up such a useless, bullshit ‘story.’ Then I watched CNN pick it up, and now Jalopnik. Is there really nothing else to report on at CES?

I wouldn’t even bother comparing the SL to Tesla - anybody who spends $42k+ for an EV right now and buys a Leaf is an idiot. Nissan is competing with Chevy at this point. Yeah sure when the $35k Model 3 comes out it’ll blow everybody away. But I’m still waiting...

Brb, checking Autotrader...

Going out on a limb here... possibly because the original article was in meters (being Canadian) and the author is too lazy to do math, but a yard is ‘close enough’ to a meter.
