Dealers won’t offer shit on a car they know sells itself. I tried to get an Acura RDX last weekend and the dealer was doing me a favor selling at MSRP. Told me he sold seven the day before and was using their sister Alfa dealership across the street to hold his extra stock. Walked across the street and the Alfa guy

First: Discounts depend on demand. I leased an Alfa Stelvio last weekend, was cross-shopping an RDX, but the RDX had exactly zero discounts (because they’re literally flying off the lot) and I got $9k off the Stelvio, because the dealer can’t move the ‘18 MY’s. My lease ended up being $130 cheaper on the Alfa, even

My contention is with the ‘But that might soon change’ hint that Ford might be overtaken in pickup sales. GM sold 217k Sierra’s in 2017, so they’re not selling more than in recent years past. GM is still down 100k vehicles, or roughly 13%, to Ford if you combine their full-size and compact sales. Plus, if Ford

Ford used to dominate here with the F-Series, followed by GM’s Chevy in second and Fiat Chrysler’s Ram in third. But that might soon change.

Or companies will scrap EVs entirely because there’s no incentive while gas is still cheap, ICEs are cheaper to make and people are still buying them. Especially if the current Administration has their way and drops required MPG requirements. IMO the Gov’t needs to incentivize companies or consumers until the

IMO if you want to be PC just say ‘Chair.’ Also, Google is throwing some major shade:

I’m already sick of these recession articles. If there is one coming, wouldn’t it be smarter to wait until the prime rate drops back down a few points and nobody is buying cars, period?

If pre-recession David refuses to sell Project Swiss Cheese, I’m not sure I want to meet full-blown recession David.

...buy cheap each time it crashes.

I was actually at an Alfa dealership yesterday (coincidentally I am now the proud owner of a Stelvio Ti) and the manager told me it’s because US safety regulations now require side-impact airbags, but the roof on the 4C is too thin to house the airbag units; the spyder isn’t required to have them because convertibles

I took a defensive driving class for work, and while I don’t support a lot of what they teach (stop 15' before an intersection, drive 5 under speed limit, etc.) they do reinforce checking both directions at every intersection before entering it, regardless of what color the traffic light is. In this case, looking both

You know what’s fucked? This fucking guy, who apparently works for the railway or the electrical company, and doesn’t even flinch when the arms don’t go down and the train nearly flattens a cop.

I didn’t for a second believe that ‘Toughness’ was a real, measurable term, but sure enough there it is.

Hey, you’re still right. But it’s easier to see how she wouldn’t be able to distinguish a Scion impeccably dressed as a VW; she probably thinks those Chrysler 300's with the ‘B’ on the front are Bentley’s too.

Aren’t Zero’s like $10k for the short range version? That Moto Guzzi was probably $3k max. I bet cost was the main consideration; you can get used bikes for dirt cheap these days.

Had you ever ridden a motorcycle prior to taking the test? I passed first try when I did it, but I’d ridden a dirtbike and three-wheeler before (like a handful of times).

Ah, for some reason I had to click ‘Offer Details’ and then it shows me the 2019. So Volvo is advertising a lease offer for the ‘19 V60 CC, which they haven’t officially released pricing for yet (though it does say it’ll be $44,190 on the lease page), but they’re not advertising leases for the ‘19 V60 (non CC), which

That’s a 2018. There’s also no advertisement for the T6, which would be the ‘performance’ variety our friend wants. GFL trying to even find a New, leasable 2018 T6 in the country.

Gotcha. I drove a Certified ‘15 V6o T6 a few weeks ago and was very, very tempted to buy, but they were offering it at $32k which was just too much for a four year old car that basically has a year left on its CPO warranty. Agreed they’re too heavy to be true performance cars - but man that 6-cyl. in Sport mode moves.
