You said that "you were unhappy but then you accepted yourself as a fat person" - that was the gist of your response. Now you're just saying you realized you deserve respect which - I mean it's just a straw man argument - at no point did I say I was unhappy because I disrespected myself. You implied that I'm unhappy

Also, I'd just like to point out, thanks for being exactly who I said would respond to that post, " I wish that some other asshole isn't going to say "I'm sorry you're so sad but I'm perfectly happy with my obesity and you're a hater!"

You're responding to the wrong person. I'm in agreement with you. Please respond to the poster who thinks everyone was fat during the Renaissance.

I kind of don't want to get into with you since I've seen your vitriol, but I just want to say I'm beyond tired of reading the first paragraph you wrote there.

Actually this comment is disturbingly naive. 1 in 5 children in America go to bed hungry. Millions of people still die from starvation every year. Obesity is a result of poverty most of the time. People can't afford healthy food only carbs and fast food. I would be slim if I could afford a gym and vegetables.

I did not shame anyone. I am getting really tired of people accusing me of shaming anyone. Your entire monologue is wasted and self-righteous considering at no point did I shame anyone.

I have repeatedly stated in this thread why it makes me sad and why it has everything to do with me.

As I've already said in the comments here, I never said this site/these photos should not exist. I simply was recognizing that because most Americans are obese, now when we see an obese women in lingerie we say it's a "normal woman in lingerie" and.. that it's a brave new world that is sad.

this is such an odd "clutching my pearls" comment. you're on the internet. this should pretty much just be your break from watching porn!

Yeah, I've dismissed comments arguing the semantics because it's nonsense and I'm not going down that rabbit hole. "Normal" "Average" "Regular" - whatever. The fact is that most Americans ARE obese. And we have now gotten to a point where the culture is accepting it so much that when we see pictures of obese women

Considering that my comment has the *most* "stars" I think it's pretty clear that yes, it IS what "most people" are thinking.

It's sad that most Americans are unhealthy and dying of obesity-related issues such as heart failure/diabetes. And I am sick to death of Jezebel commentators saying "how do you know they aren't healthy?" or "I'm not healthy but I don't mind."

Are we actually having this conversation? Really??? Talk to a doctor about, oh, I don't know, DIABETES or, say, THE NUMBER ONE KILLER IN AMERICA - HEART DISEASE, and then let me know if you want to keep pretending like this needs to be a serious discussion.

You have to be kidding me. In the Renaissance the reason that the RARE, RICH woman who was overweight was considered "sexy" was that she was prized because she had LESS OF A CHANCE OF DYING. Because so many people died when they were malnourished, the rich tried to fatten up their women so that they could feel

honestly I don't want to have a discussion about this. I'm fat. I'm an American. I did not say this should not exist. I simply wanted to let a single comment on the crazy-Jezebel-comments section to speak what I know most people are thinking but are afraid to say here in crazy-Jezebel-comment-land. Which is that

I didn't argue that this shouldn't exist. I simply stated that wow: this is "regular" now. It's sad, and there's no two ways about it.

Yes this was my point. As I said, "Oh America..."

So, obese now equals normal. Oh America...

Now playing

:) No worries, it's actually really refreshing to hear someone acknowledge a mishap on Kinja - usually even if my comment has been misinterpreted the assailant keeps defending their version of what I said until I want to throw my laptop through the window. It happens, no worries.

I'm in Los Angeles now, but What The Fuck are you talking about? Chicago is one of the most culturally diverse cities in the country, every single culture is represented and celebrated there. And there is music and art - TONS of it. The only thing is lacks is nature, which is why I moved.
