Tully and Charlize Theron should have been awards contenders.

I swear, if anybody fucks with “Night Moves” I will be on them with all the fury of a ramblin, gamblin’ man.

For a song that criticizes the other pop music of the time, it’s still so upbeat and positive!

For weird 90s nostalgia, and a song that’s a powerfully inescapable earworm, may I submit Donna Lewis’ “I Love You Always Forever?”

Maybe people need to reflect on themselves and why they are so tied to and have such strong reactions when they are not part of the process.

I agree that the characters change so frequently in the comics that big screen variations should get less ire.

I poked around and found an article that spoils everything.

“It’s a big ol’ sea out there, and a long fishin’ trip. I reckon it’ll be easy to lose a guy in ten days.”

The twist is that McConaghuey agrees to kill Clarke, but his boat has a failure to launch.

i get the impression that he had beats, but not like “There’s an episode where everyone becomes Janet.” But with a show like this, I would be surprised if it wasn’t at least a little plotted, like... This is the Bad Place, well, this is them back on Earth, etc.

As a a Milwaukeean, I think the change sucks, but I get it. At least American Family is a Wisconsin based company. I’ve seen a number of people sign petitions to keep the name, clearly they don’t understand how money works. There’s also a gofundme page, where I guess the money goes to MillerCoors?

Three Billboards isn’t about racism. The character was an awful person and his racism was just one component of that. If the film wanted to “redeem” him they could have had him succeed in finding the real killer. Instead they discover he’s innocent but figure he must be guilty of “something” and go after him anyway. I’m not sure you took away the right lesson out of Three Billboards.

So it turns out the brief blip where the Oscar nominations were actually exciting and interesting was a passing phase rather than a new trend, I suppose.

And yet even the countries that went metric only accepted part of it. There was also decimal time (ten hours in a day, a hundred minutes in an hour, each with a hundred seconds).  The French Revolutionaries used it for a bit, but that was it.

This was one of the more underrated movies of 2018. This article helps explain why. The only thing I felt it didn’t earn was the ending, but this is a damn near flawless film.
