Yeah, this is just a totally bad take from Katie Rife.  Like, dude.  BLOOD AND CHOCOLATE.  In the words of Jimmy from South Park, like “come oh-on.”

My favorite trait of Antoni’s is his tendency to replace sour cream or mayonnaise with “just a little bit of Greek yogurt” at every opportunity.

Did you know that Bill Brasky gave Sha Na Na their name? They did NOT want to be called that.

“Generation of Swine” is up there, too - Thompson’s output had slowed considerably at that point (this is mostly just a collection of weekly columns) but damn if it’s not great to see him ripping apart the Reagan administration for all those years. I really love that book.

The HST commentary on that Criterion disk is delightful.

Not only did we get David Strathairn and Chris Owens, we also got John Kapelos aka the janitor from The Breakfast Club!

They’re all great. Pig Lib is the one that really got me. From there I’d suggest the s/t, then Real Emotional Trash, then Wig Out At Jagbags, which is as good as anything he’s ever done.

Fuck, this is good.

He recently was posting about it on Twitter - maybe the anniversary of its release? Anyway, I retweeted him or quote-tweeted him or whatever and he liked my tweet, so I got that going for me which is nice. I’d wager he remembers a whole bunch as he put a hell of a lot of work into it.

Absolutely one of greatest film musicals of all time and maybe (gasp) my favorite of DePalma’s. It is so gloriously nuts from top to bottom. And way cooler than Rocky Horror.

So you didn’t read the article, then.

So glad there’s no coverage at all this year of The Magicians, which is having its best season ever. Onto the Kinja Deals!

Not even a passing mention of Mel Rodriguez’s totally brilliant drunk Todd confronting Melissa about going to see Jasper.

“What are you drinking?”

As a little hetero boy seeing Batman Returns in the theater, I was completely obsessed with her as well. She is amazing in that movie.
