Not every song is written as the literal feelings of the writer, you know. You might have noticed that the next song is "The World Has Turned And Left Me Here", which is a thing it might do if you're a jealous a-hole like the narrator of "No One Else".
For real. It's a shame that it wasn't as well-received. But what a way to go out!
This album is real good. But UBORM is a perfect album. PERFECT.
From my point of view, the Jedi are ah, fuck it.
Maybe go re-watch the part where Phil explains all that in the episode? :)
You may be right. I'm too American to judge the real nuances of his accent.
The reverse of that has to be whenever Alexis Denisof turns up somewhere with his non-Wesley Wyndham-Price American accent. Even though his British accent is by no means flawless, it always feels wrong to hear him without it.
Morris Chestnut and D.B. Woodside are the same person, right?
Annie Clark is from Texas.

It's not a return to Pavement form, and I don't think it's supposed to be, so anybody approaching it that way is going to be disappointed.
Yeah, Mirror Traffic was produced by Beck, and I find it totally underwhelming. Funnily enough, Face the Truth is the other one that I never listen to.
Agreed. And Wig Out At Jagbags is among his best solo records, too. Honestly, both of those, Pig Lib, and the self-titled album are just as good as the Pavement records, and I've spent so much time listening to Pavement that I usually go for the solo ones just because they're not as completely ingrained in my mind. …
Oh, you mean the Malkman?
If you watch the whole season, the reason for this and why/how it's possible is explained. And yeah, the Malk score is great.
I wholeheartedly agree with you. I really think Matthew Caws is one of the great songwriters. And that voice! I'd say their tunes get stuck in my head more than just about any other band. I love seeing them with DG, but it would be fun to see them as a trio again someday.
As long as Stephen Malkmus continues scoring this show, I'm all for it.
I remember those! I even got #1, once. It was something about Mike Tyson, I think. Good times.
I really feel like Snow Angels is the most honest of those first three. It doesn't quite fetishize poverty the way that GW does. It's a really great film.
