Finally getting around to watching this now.... It’s really strange how they spent more time on a one-off character from season one that I completely forgot about than on Mei... whose plotline resolves in probably the least interesting way you can.

You didn’t laugh, cry AND cheer all at the same time with the Flash hot dog bit?
So, complex themes and it makes you want to laugh, cry, and cheer for heartwarming characters? It’s a copy of Snyder’s Justice League?
Yeah, this style seems to be pretty common nowadays. Moody music mixed with high contrast monochromatic imagery in constant fluid motion ( I’m kind of partial to the opening credit for the first season of The Terror). We’ve reached Peak Motion Graphics Designer!
I came very late into trying a Monster Hunter game....it didn’t take me long to say “screw this, I have no idea what I’m doing”.
I guess the weird thing is that Snyder couldn't just do Doomsday, but some Snyderific version of Doomsday
Known IP is a much easier sell to people who are going to put out millions of dollars for a show than an unknown IP. Especially in a world of streaming where you are trying to eek out a monthly fee from a user base awash with options.
A) Shia was fine.
I don’t know...it seems that the edge of maintaining a survivable company based on tabletop games is so small that you really need to be careful about maintaining control over everything ( or just run it as a hobby for a loss).
Isn’t it really “keep helmets on in public”? The show seemed to be pretty clear on the idea that big rule to break was never letting anyone else see your face.
Retaking Manadalore is a big deal, and will have long standing ramifications on Mandalorian culture. So half the folks in town wear Beskar hats that cover their faces and the other half doesn’t... do we expect the two religions to just get along?
Mike Pence approves of this message.
21. Does the show really “star” Pedro Pascal anymore?
Cocoon plus the Expendables plus Aliens!
So at some point it would have to delve into the workings of the New Republic and the situation in the larger galaxy during that era. It can’t be just a show about a dude and his puppet ward collecting bounties on the ass-end of civilized space anymore.
Would you enjoy an episode of, I don’t know, Ghosts, that don’t feature the characters of that show and instead focus solely on some kid and his dad at a baseball game in Seattle? I can't think of ANY episode beyond the Pershing one that was "noodling around the galaxy" away from Mandos series of fetch quests, so I…
I would argue that “doomed to failure” simply based on revisiting a known IP is completely wrong. Aside from the covid year releases which are hard to track how to determine success, I think that all of the Disney live remakes have been successful. The Avatar sequel was successful. Same thing with Top Gun. The Wizard…
Remember when the Mandolorian first came out, and everyone LIKED that it was just a standalone story of characters outside the very small world typical Star Wars events?
That’s been sort of my feeling, too.
A) Some times, heroes fail when then go against impossible odds.
