That’s pretty true, but Last Airbender is sooooo far out of his wheelhouse that I don’t even consider that to be one of his movies.

Don’t let your dislike of any group of his movies fool you. None of his movies have ever lost money ( well, lady in the water probably did if you count marketing expenses). His ROI track record, especially on a small budget film, is astronomical for a director for someone who doesn't do cookie cutter low budget horror

Its fairly straightforward, I think. Its generally a standardcaptives are trying to escape from someone" kind of thing, with the twist being that every time they have a plan of action, it gets messed up because the way they think their captor will react keeps changing.

I would also say that, even the bad story/concept movies are still done well on a movie-making technical level.

Wait. Abandoned iceboxes AREN’T playground equipment?

The Sherman Oaks Galleria was one of the most famous malls in the world in the 80s & 90s”

I would imagine that manufacturing a Ford Bronco from pre-made parts as is done currently in a factory is actually pretty environmentally friendly. Most of it is turning nuts by electric screwdrivers powered by an electrical plant somewhere.

For a website that complains that the Marvel Universe needs more non-normative girl-meets-guy kind of relationships ( which I agree with ) and basically complained that the Falcon and Winter Soldier show was queer baiting everyone is some kind of promise of sexuality between the main two characters....

You’re ignoring the Blue Marble effect though. The modern environmental movement received a huge boost from the Blue Marble photo of earth.

I’m sure the drinks are free.

These doofy billionaires going into space is the first steps towards humanity crossing it’s most important milestone to continue off.

I never ever got that sense from Springsteen. If anything, it always felt like he was tying to read novels over the course of 5 minutes.

I’m under the impression that for big ticket movies, the movie theaters really get just a sliver of the ticket prices on opening weekends. Their percentage goes up the longer the movie is in theater.

I think that something that no one talks about is that for a lot of the Marvel movies ( and say, Star Wars and some of the other big tentpole legacy themes), a big chunk of the ticket intake is based on repeat business of fans seeing them 2 or 3 ( 4? 5?) times.

It’s one thing to get in your car and set up your playlists and what not for a 45 minute car ride. It’s another thing to get in the car spend 10 minutes in the driveway because the driver of the car is scrolling around on their phone looking for their “preferred playlist of the day”....for the five minute trip to the

But if Amazon is tracking fake and non-fake reviews to get those percentages.... Shouldn't Amazon be removing those fake reviews on the first place?

Oh man, “cultural footprint” is NOT the thing you want to give away awards for.

Light-hearted huggable courtroom dramas seem to always be a well-received. See also, “My Cousin Vinny” and “From The Hip”

It’s actually a pretty good movie if you like the feel of early to mid 70s character study films.

It’s interesting...I had some really old card back when Wizards of the Coast made the game. It was all about creating a deck that allowed you to evolve the pokemon over the course of the game.
