I think you could pull off “realistic CGI Thundercats” fairly well following the Avatar example, where you are mo-capping the more stylized CG characters inside their own Thundercats world.

It’s a movie where people easily forget things like the guy you were standing next to exploded out of his shoes, and that the person you are congratulating just seconds ago blew up a guy (instead of using her faster than a speeding bullet speeds to simply tie him up).
