Is he really a god, though? I always thought that the Asgardians were played up as “aliens with technology so far in advance that humans could only interpret them as gods” kind of thing.

Isn’t this essentially the Tomb Raider franchise?

Thanks for not making me dig that video up.

Honestly, I think it would’ve been a better film if it was “TALES FROM THE RIM: random new rogue character doing smuggling things” instead of trying to be “Look, here’s everything about Han Solo’s questionable backstory is ALL RIGHT HERE!”

That’s interesting to know! Thanks!

I was wondering that myself.... What exactly did Sam do to earn the shield? That felt like a weak point of Endgame to me.

First of all, podracing is cool. It just is. The ships are awesome, the characters flying them are fun, and the race is just a well-intentioned and executed scene. It’s also a great example of how The Phantom Menace humanized Star Wars.Unlike a speeder chase or trench run, podracing was a fun event people attended to

ANH pacing is pretty terrible by today’s summer Blockbuster standards.... but pretty common for 1970s sci-fi. If you watch Logan’s Run and the original Planet of the Apes (heck, throw in a Witch Mountain movie, too) they all move at a similar speed. Even ESB is kind of weird by modern standards.

Roger Rabbit probably had a lot more tennis ball actors in it.

There are already plenty of laws on the books against the murder of babies. Those usually fall under the laws against murder.

In comic book world where sales figures are fragile to begin with, if all of those x-titles were selling gangbusters to begin with, Marvel would be saying “hell no we aren’t going to cancel those!”

it’s amazing how many “verbal memes” come from Casablanca.

“Hulk, loved by the kids” is sooooo adorable.

If you watch the gif above closely, they even put THE EYES IN HIS GREEN MYSTERIO BLASTS!

Yep. Rogue One is pretty great.

I always got the sense that Yoda was a big fan of the Chinese magician in "The Prestige."

Solo was a fairly different genre, though.

Given that so much of Avatar is high-end animation with wacky new technologies and Cameron is VERY persnickety about the way things look and feel, it’s not surprising at all.

Little kids can’t afford the 10 dollar and up movie tickets that Endgame costs to see a movie 15 times. They can’t afford the $5 Pukachu matinees 15 times.
