So...not a single person of color, huh?

"On the other hand, if you haven't yet had the surgery, you aren't yet biologically a woman" - I fail to see how that has anything to do with your gender, which is probably the only thing a government official or airport employee is going to interact with. It's not like they're going to do a chromosomal test. Not even…
I agree — how would this be good for his wife? Dude, just suck it, maybe see a therapist, or go to confession.
What even is this comment? They are against the choice of abortion, therefore anti-choice. Versus pro-choice.
No, there was definitely a comment that laid out exactly the things that would help prevent this, and none of them were 'don't ride the Subway at 3 am.' It's attitudes that the victim _should have_ done something differently in order to prevent the crime that should be dismantled, especially as a kneejerk reaction to…
Is this conversation still happening? Look, people have explained this to you but I will try one more time: that advice? Doesn't actually diminish the chances of these things happening to you.
This x1 million.
Wow, she just gets more amazing. I can understand what a relief finally getting a diagnosis must be — and I wish her the best of luck!
Can't we talk about how You & I is just a Shania Twain song instead (complete with 'That Don't Impress Me Much' call out in the video)? Or did I miss that thread?

I have olive skin and I'm Latina, so I wouldn't really classify myself as 'Caucasian,' and it's likely that most biracial actresses wouldn't bother responding to a casting call that specifies Caucasian.
This is how I saw it.
Sadie, did you write this post without seeing the other photos published? That's the only thing that makes this make a modicum of sense.
@ReverendLoki: 100% yes. My Timbs keep me warm all winter.
@JulieSunday: I kind of wish she would — she's done a lot of interesting global health work.
Oh god, this is me to a T. Senior year of undergrad + thesis + a bad health problem landed me on Cymbalta, which is a goddamn life-saver. Now I'm nervous as hell about graduating with a master's in 9 months and still being underemployed.
@Ismone: Ah. It is a good conversation topic, but now it is just a journey of discovering just how much of immigrant mom syndrome I have internalized.
@jcongdon: Thanks for sharing that with the class.
