@pixiedust8: She didn't pick the headline or the excerpts, which pretty much disassociated the excerpt from the whole point of the memoir — which is that she realized that her parenting methods weren't working?
@smartgal: Plenty of players will wear long sleeved shirts and leggings under the jersey and shorts, which is how I've seen most covering Muslim women athletes do it.

As a musician, this seems so nice and practical, but I am a little irked that "menswear inspired" is what happened here. But, they're not just putting ladies in tuxes, so that's something.
Another person chiming in to say that marching band is a hugely physical activity, and definitely got me more in shape than PE ever did. It's so physical, in fact, it gave me the debilitating sports injury that I still have today, six years later!
