I assumed they helped stream and promote the original, which is fine and all but dam it really does do the game no justice to have them included. It’s unimmersive seeing the same persons appear in every prison. Aside from how bullshit it is to not have splitscreen co-op even though the game says local co-op and DOES

Is it some cosmic mishap that the top 2 trending videos on YT are absolutely abysmal piles of steaming dog shit. Both from artists who not long ago were considered “the best”. Is this like a joke they are playing, because it has to be right? They are just so bad, not that I liked them before but this is on another

Alright, gonna start off honest here, I’m a bit drunk. But I want to reply so I can make a sober reply later. A lot to take in from your comment, well over 1000 characters which is beyond my drunk limit to read in one sitting without spins. Few things to note, Xbox has a ready to install tab which lists new updates for

Guessing this is the mode the devs teased recently where you can actually play a map for a full fortnight. Love the game but really can’t imagine playing on one map for 3.5 hours unless the reward is insanely good.

I’ve seen no mention of local co-op anywhere. All the streamers I’ve been watching were doing 2-4 players online co-op before release.

I haven’t noticed any decrease in quality, to me the constant tweaks to the interface are a good thing. They take a little getting used to but nothing major. Just compare starting a party to play with friends on PS to Xbox. Xbox you press a button which just opens a side tab, select a friend or type in the name of

Dam your reply reminded me I haven’t even tried the new update yet, I’ve been working through my steam backlog. Know what I’ll be grinding for this weekend.

Anyone who would argue for Sony when it comes to online functionality is either out of their fucking mind or has only ever experienced the trash that is PS Live and the PS4 user interafce. As someone who has used and owned every console in the past 2 decades, it’s so obviously clear that XB has a better interface and

True on all aspects you mentioned. Thanks for an actual response, feel like a lot of people who replied to me did so on a knee jerk reaction who never really played or liked the original, they didn’t offer much feedback. I think I came across like I didn’t like the visuals at first, but that wasn’t what I intended.

I’ve said it in other comments but they get buried easily. I’m aware the visuals were the selling point, it’s how they marketed the game. I just don’t think that’s what kept people playing, it wasn’t what kept me fascinated. And wait, less responsive Virtua Fighter? Safe to assume you are referring to the actual

I’d argue some of it was. There was a ton of interesting mechanics strewn around the gameworld, at the forefront was the time management system. It was a very challenging and compelling mechanic that kept me extremely engaged and determined. All this talk is making me want to go back and play it one more time, it’s

Agreed. Hell the original did, but that was with a large studio backing them. With just a Kickstarted budget they may not have that same flexibility. Time will tell I suppose.

It’s ok that we don’t agree man, we don’t all have to like the same thing ya know. If you’d read anything Id wrote other than the I initial comments you’d see I never said the graphics weren’t responsible for getting people to initially play the game, but for those of us, like me, who replayed it over the years didn’t

On your second point I agree, and I suppose my wording wasn’t clear to begin with. The original game looks great and is interactive beyond belief. The immersion was top notch for its time. Due in large part to the unique style of game most people had never seen, and it looked stunning to boot.

*shrugs* Suppose Illl have to agree to disagree on this one. I think the graphics brought people in and the gameplay kept them playing. You said it was simple quests and opening drawers, which of course now sounds dull but at the time there wasn’t anything like it available. I know the original wasn’t some master

True, I’m in no way knocking the graphics and interactive nature of the game. It was unprecedented at the time. Key words being at the time. So yes when it released they pushed the graphics as the main attraction, a few years down the line and we had many other games that pushed the envelope even further in that

I’m 30, don’t be ignorant. I never said the game didn’t look good, also never said that SEGA didn’t use that graphical appeal to try and sell the game. I said what made the game great was its gameplay. Find me someone who still plays Shenmue because “it looks so good”. Nah, you’re not going to find them. You will

Maybe it’s your nostalgia or me not being clear, but what I was saying is the textures and overall realistic appearance wasn’t the main grab of the game. I and anyone else who owned Shenmue and a Dreamcast knew dam well it was one of the best looking games of its time, but the main attraction was the gameplay itself.

What were people expecting? Shenmue wasn’t great because of it’s amazing lifelike graphical appeal originally so why should this one be any different. It was the refreshingly hard but satisfying gameplay that we all want to see return. Glad to see the didn’t take the Dead Rising approach from first glance, it doesn’t

If it’s not clear I am in agreeance here. I don’t think it was professional and I do not think it was an applaudable act. My point was this kind of thing has to be expected while cyber security is still in its infancy. I’m sure as time goes on these cases will continue to be even more so the outliers (for every 1
