I read that Peele found inspiration in the Stepford Wives, which was heavily satirical in the whole "good woman" aspect. Maybe the satire here is in the "good, strong genes" stereotype.

I could sum up my thoughts on this movie (which I very much liked at the time it was released) as it simply being one looooong music video.
