Hmmm. I wonder why my car downshifts and RPMs go up when I use cruise going up a hill then...???? Maybe my car’s tachometer is lying to me, and the increased engine noise I’m hearing from attempting to maintain constant speed up the hill is all an illusion...??? Enlighten me.

Nope. I have a Subaru with CVT, and when I’m going down the freeway in cruise, and I come up on a hill, RPMs will increase going up the hill, and decrease going down. CVT doesn’t change the engine’s need to increase RPM to maintain speed under uphill/downhill conditions.

Randi - exactly what I thought. Dear lord, the ineptitude in this post is head-spinning.

Criticizing iAnything??? How dare you

I use a Surface for work and I absolutely hate it. I even told IT for my next upgrade, I’d like a classic laptop. They can make them as hip and cool as they want. The fact is, I like keeping my “device” and PC separate. Old school, I know.

I wish I had read this article prior to buying this Faberge egg. Oh well.

My grandmother went through the same thing. The last conversation I had with her is one of my life’s disappointing events. She was rude, mean, and terse. Not the grandmother who bundled me up to play in the snow as a 5 year old, made me cookies while I was out there, put my fresh clothes in the dryer so when I put

I’m going to disagree on the “over-layering” advice. Here’s why:

Pretty cool, but I’m so deeply entrenched in Spotify I can’t make the change. I like that Spotify now has audio books, podcasts, etc. on it, and I also have some pretty hefty playlists built up - my neo-progressive rock playlist is over 1,100 songs and I can’t part with it! But hey, Pandora in years past introduced me

I only type “LOL” when I truly laugh out loud. You, good sir, made me LOL.

I was thinking hookers, but yeah

I’m with Sue. They’re not tax accountants, the IRC is a complicated mess, the presidency doesn’t control the tax code, and most of the people listening to the debate will have one, maybe two capital gain incidents to report throughout their entire lives. Moreover, redefining ordinary income to include capital gains

People - dear god - soap by itself does NOTHING. The scrubbing action of cleaning your skin allows the soap to pick up what you scrub off. That’s all the soap does - it doesn’t actually clean without your scrubbing action. This is why you have to clean your shower and your soap dishes, etc. - places where soap

I couldn’t care less about the comings/goings of all the nonplussed superhero garbage, but losing Psych is going to hurt. Time to order the DVDs!

Wait, wasn’t there a Seinfeld episode about this? Didn’t Kramer test drive a car all the way down to empty so he could find out where ‘TRUE empty’ was on the gauge?

a fantastic way to damage your fuel pump

Also, the comments here are a fun way to practice your logical fallacy detection skills. I love it when I see cognitive dissonance!!!!

I guess the underlying assumption to all this is that the FDA knows what they’re talking about... I’m guessing the change has little to do with health and more to do about import/export issues for chemical manufacturers (I work for one). Oh, and I’ve never been an antibacterial soap person - old fashioned bar of soap

I like turning on the live HD feeds from the International Space Station, which is similar to this. They get blackouts once in a while when they’re drifting over a spot where there are no relay stations, but for the most part, quite cool to have on.

Without even knowing him, I have to say “He’s a good boy.”
