NVH doesn’t just mean “quiet” and “living room”. For something like engine sound, it also means quality of sound. For example, you can have a V10 Viper, but it could sound like absolute shit to the very best inline 6 engines (this is true by the way). It’s the same thing with vibration and harshness. Silky smooth I6

Don’t you be niggardly with your list of words there, star boy.

Agreed.

Agreed. Can we please talk about cars and not politics? I come here to see and read about cool car stuff, not politically motivated authors still pissed about the election.

The sub title says...Filed to: “CAR POLITICS”. It should be...Filed to: “MY PERSONAL POLITICAL BELIEFS”.

There is nothing “car” about this...just the long wailing song of a crushed dream. When will they get it that we don’t want to read this crap.

Couldn’t agree more. How many of us would pay more in tax when there is a legal way to avoid doing so. If you say you would you’re either a much better person than I am or a liar.

This. People who can afford good advisers will never overpay taxes and will go the extra mile to reduce their tax liabilities. No one in their right mind would overpay taxes.

Also, people need to stop calling it “tax dodging”. The strategy is called tax avoidance, which is legal (and encouraged, even by the IRS!). Tax

I’m failing to see the Jeep tie-in.

I’m pretty sure that only applies if they’ve went from manual to auto or vice versa...TRANSgender and all.

Should be OK. It’s only a change in the motor, not the tranny.

Stock motors in things like this are already highly strung tuned machines, adding power isn’t easy. Parts for them can be 2-3x as much. The reason is they didn’t make anywhere close to the same number of engines. In comparison big American V8s will outnumber the engine in that Cayman by a huge margin. Meaning the

Because we don’t have stupid taxes on displacement put their by clueless bureaucrats.

Ask Bizzarrini and get back to us. Long live the Gordon Keeble!!!

The better question is why the car did not have the V8 inserted in the factory from the beginning.

Because European countries can’t wire shit or make reliable engines if their lives depended on it

I would have thought an LS would be a better option, since the OHV layout is shorter and more compact for a lower CG. They tend to have more torque low down than DOHC engines as well, which could make for some amazing acceleration in a mid-engine car.
