No. The 1099 is for self-employed. Contractors are a sub-category of self-employed. But not all self-employed people are contractors.

You’re not a contractor. A contractor gets paid for work and doesn’t have to give it to a conglomerate for free and hope that they throw you some scraps. That’s not contract work, it’s basically the opposite.

Form 1099 are for miscellaneous incomes meaning contract work, yes, but also any payment not specific to an employee such as legal fees to a lawyer, rent, and any general payment over $600. The most you are to federal law is a nonemployee. - Tax guy.

As someone else pointed out, you have no contractual obligation to YouTube or Google. You may file a 1099 as a “contractor” but that doesn’t actually make you a “contractor”.
