I would argue that pushing boundaries very much can be a comedian’s job, but when the boundaries they push against are the same ones as the Klan, the comedy has taken a backseat to bigotry.

Even his name says, “Is that a beer?”

If you consider bigotry “semi-controversial,” then you don’t get it and probably never will.

I mean, denying reality is a bigot’s whole raison d’être.

And if you say that you don’t like/agree with something on a stage in front of people, you’re automatically, like, *real,* man.

Or unless I’m Dave Chappelle and someone laughs at my blackface joke in a way I don’t like, in which case I’ll decide that moral nuance in comedy exists, shut down production of my show, and go to Africa without telling anyone.

Stop being transphobic.

These comment sections always have a 14-year-old who found out about Carlin yesterday, scratched his name on their Social Studies book, and decided they’ve now graduated from Life University.

Once you accept that about 1/3 of people pride themselves on not having the empathy the rest of us develop in childhood, society makes a lot more sense.

People aren’t burning Chappelle’s Show DVDs. They’re saying that they wouldn’t have gone to the show if they knew he was performing.

Ok. 😂

The other side of that coin is if you like Dave Chappelle’s joke about blackface and laugh at it, but he doesn’t like the *way* you laugh at it, he’ll decide that perhaps he should explore the nuances in the relationship between his personal self and his stage self.

Remember kids, Netflix’s stance on censorship fluctuates as a function of how it will affect their money. They censored With Bob & David Episode 3 when it looked like it would cost them money

Even by religious school standards, that’s a weird one. I knew someone who went there briefly, and she told me they measured the height of the women’s skirts each morning to make sure too much leg wasn’t showing. 🤮

I think Jason Takes Manhattan is far and away one of the better entries in the series. The title just sets up “When are they gonna get to the fireworks factory?!” vibes for the first two acts. If you forget that title, it’s fun and inventive.

Ah, another responsible gun owner. 🙄

Well that’s just plain wrong. The ACA is 906 pages, which is shorter than Stephen King’s IT.

The memory on John Astin! He’s beboppin’ and scattin’ through the names, personalities, and experiences of over 60 years of career.

Right? Neither Jim Gaffigan nor Jerry Seinfeld nor Steve Martin are comedians, because they aren’t EXTREEEEEEEEEME, MAAAAAAAN!

Incorrect.
