So basically Gladwell is arguing Paterno should get to enjoy all the glory and goodies of managing a multi-million dollar operation, but none of the responsibility.  Small wonder so many CEOs like this asshole. 

The players can’t be fairly paid their market worth. The players can’t have too much of the league’s revenues. The players can’t have too many years on their deals. The players can’t pick and move to another market.

Everyone really wants to give the Democrats the benefit of the doubt and assume they’re “doing their best, but they’re just weak / dumb / cowards!” but no one wants to confront a darker, more likely explanation : many of them sort-of, kind-of agree with the Trump agenda and for them, it’s not the same life-and-death
