I don’t recall a very enthusiastic response to the announcement that FO76 was going to be an online-only multiplayer game, either.

They often take some of their better “ideas” from the mods made by fans. In Fallout 4, the settlement-building mechanic with the associated crafting mechanics for it was based on a popular community mod for either FO3 or NV, and I know that “hardcore” mode that started in NV was based on a popular mod for FO3.

For comparison, is FO76 more embarrassing a mis-step than Acti-Blizzard’s “Diablo for Mobile” or less embarrassing?

This is pretty much why I haven’t gotten on to play F76 more than twice. The amount of time I noticed I was spending in menus doing inventory management compared to actually doing something in the game was just absurd. Especially with how damn near everything has some utility and yet when crafting they still insist…
