As a shift worker, I’m constantly switching between nights and days, and I’ve come up routines that let me bounce back quickly. Applying them to long-distance traveling, the key is to trying to match the circadian rhythm of your destination before you ever leave.

If you’re arriving in the morning, try to stay awake on

Come on now, after EVERYTHING we’ve found out about the way these companies and apps operate, does anybody actually trust that they’re not doing something shady with our data? Nope. There’s not a chance in Hell that I trust any app or extension like this.

My parents have told me that I used to grind my teeth as a child, but none of my dentists said anything about it until my current one, and she was on my ass for years before I finally gave in.

As a child, I would have loved it, full stop. As an adult, I still loved it, but not without my frontal lobe telling me “this is insane” every 30 seconds.

Another vote for Clif bars for pretty much the exact reasons. They’re kind of just “meh,” and being a single, self-contained unit, you can’t keep dipping back into it mindlessly like you can a bag of chips or nuts, only to look up and realize you’ve unconsciously eaten 1500 calories and 2000 mg of sodium.

I keep one

I was on Accutane as a teenager, and I can’t endorse it enough. I’d tried everything, and I still had horrible cystic acne. After Accutane, I get MAYBE 1 or 2 pimples a year. Like many of the others here, I wish I had started it sooner, as I still bear the physical scars of years of acne (and backne). The monthly

All good tips. I’ve been climbing for almost 10 years now, and I’ve taken numerous people climbing for their first times. Almost across the board, the people who do the best their first time around are women who were hesitant to even try it because they “have no upper body strength.” Since they can’t just power their

I see bad falling habits all the time at my local gym, and I see them all the time at work (ER doc). Broken ankles, dislocated elbows, you name it, I’ve seen (and treated) it.

One roommate in college used to leave his bedroom window open in the dead of winter and then crank up the heater. Inevitably everybody else would come out of their rooms, sweating profusely, to find the thermostat on max. We’d beg and plead for him to close his window and just put on a sweatshirt instead of wearing

“As Rossman notes, it’s not actually even the best card for Apple Pay rewards. ‘If you want to maximize Apple Pay, the U.S. Bank Altitude Reserve Visa Infinite card gives three points per dollar on mobile wallet spending—worth three percent cash back or 4.5 percent off travel,’ he says.”

That card also has a $400

Love him, or hate him, but Gordon Ramsay recommends basically the same thing. Definitely makes chopping onions easier and less tear-inducing.

The problem with this approach, and one that I see all the time among millenials, is that you eventually run out of hours. When it’s “oh, this is only 3 hours of work,” and “that is only 2 hours of work,” you eventually cumulatively “owe” more hours than you’ve got in the bank or have yet to work.

Though per Mobile Passport’s website, ‘It is great to use both the ‘Trusted Traveler’ programs and the Mobile Passport app so you can choose the shortest line and breeze through Customs on your preferred program. Your results may vary depending on the airport and the time of day.’)”

Interesting that they say that

As an ER doc, I can’t recommend this advice enough. 2 other medications that I’d add would be ondansetron (name brand Zofran) and ciprofloxacin (name brand Cipro). Both are prescription only, but any travel clinic or urgent care will be able to prescribe them if you tell them you’re going abroad.

The former is for

I’m going through this right now. The credit card companies will often issue a conditional credit while they investigate, but an important addendum is to keep track of your account to make sure your credit card company doesn’t reverse their initial credit.
