I’m not understanding the distinction you make. The HomePod uses exactly the same software with exactly the same behavior as your iPhone. Both have microphones, a connection to the internet, and are constantly listening for a Hey Siri command. Why is buying a HomePod any different from your phone in this respect?

What?? Fisker has employees, offices, and an actual decade-long history of building and selling cars. Faraday just has the first two. Barely.

Pretty sure Henrik Fisker has exactly nothing to do with this design. But if I saw my last name slapped on this convoluted design, I’d probably get drunk too.

Holy shit, they buy a phone just to do something they could easily have done with Quicktime Player?

It’s not even necessary for Apple to remove 32-bit support. They’re forcing a non-issue.

Of course it was intentional, because they knew someone like Gizmodo would leap on it and write “LOL APPLE WTF??? CLICK HERE TO SEE THE RESEMBLANCE!” and thereby drum up talk about the HomePod.

Jesus Christ, this is a new level of sloppy reporting.

I can understand your confusion, as the article (intentionally?) obscured a glaring fact: THE ENTIRE THING IS OPT-IN. It won’t do this on its own. Do Not Disturb While Driving is 100% optional.

What the fuck is it with people giving this whole sarcastic spiel? At no point did Apple say any of this. You’re literally making that shit up in your head at this point. They called it a refinement of Siri, not some groundbreaking new product.

your inability to use your phone to do things while in “CarPlay mode” is false

Alex, you don’t seem to understand that iPad and iPad Pro are two different product lines. You pretty much use them interchangeably in this article, which leads to straight-up incorrect information like this:

At that price point, you’re basically removing anyone but business consumers and maybe a few self-employed people.

Yeah, this was an unbelievably sloppy write-up. What they actually said was Mail and its library will take up 35% less disk space, period. As in, SSD space, not RAM. Did you notice he also wrote “took about a minute to copy 6 photos?” Wtf? Unless he was watching some other WWDC, it was 6 videos and it took about

Let me get this straight. A 64-bit OS running with dual support for 32-bit and 64-bit apps is somehow going to become more bloated by dropping 32-bit support? Ooookay.

Ooooh, edgy! Tell me more. Are they “crapple” too? Hah! Got ‘em!

You are currently on Gizmodo, a tech site. This assumes at least a rudimentary understanding of long-standing tech terms. WWDC is one of the most widely reported tech events on earth, every year for the last 20 years, not just on tech sites but in mainstream media as well. I don’t think the author should be

You don’t like “frunk”, but you like... “froot”? God help you

Holy crap, I saw that one too! What are the chances that you and I both saw the same shirt?!
