I’m one of the few who doesn’t actually mind the economy right now. Sure, the gold bars thing is a little atrocious... but as for regular in-game money, what exactly are we going to spend it on? There are no cars/planes/boats like in GTAO to burn our cash on... so the slow burn is going to have to come from

Completely agree about Mercenaries, and I was so terribly disappointed with Mercenaries 2. M1 always felt like you were crossing into enemy territory where anything could happen and you had to constantly react to what great combination of forces the NKs had for you. M2 you were always in enemy territory, so it didn’t

Unions were great... in their day. The problem comes when people are forced to spend their wages for a group that has little to no supervision as to what specific benefits are provided to the people they represent. Then they take that money, supported by policies of a different political party, and funnel them into

Keep in mind that there was a relative lack in competition for the FPS market this year as people abandoned Battlefield V in droves for numerous reasons.  Black Ops V may have been a beneficiary of these lose sales for DICE.

Hey, has anybody else come across the wolf-man?  Not really a werewolf, but a couple times in my game I’ve come across a man in (what appears, from a distance, to be) his underwear who howls like a wolf and then runs off.  I’ve wanted to chase him, but have to deal with the pack of wolves his howls bring and at that

I think it was less to with being able to kill Dr. Manhatten as much as progressing hand in hand to the point where they could kill Dr. Manhattan. That would take worldwide cooperation on multiple avenues where you might decide that you can fight other creatures on your own and horde things.

Also, Dr. Manhattan didn’t

Oh, they understand what ‘implicit white dude self-satisfaction’ is. It’s the remark of a racist and a sexist who wants to put people down. But, yeah, they’re the ones who aren’t good people. How dare they get angry and racism/sexism?!?

It’s stunning that you can somehow be morally bereft and incompetent all at once!

It depends. I’ve probably played the original Betrayal...16 times? I’m nowhere near finished with it, but more importantly the different groups I’ve played it with aren’t finished with it. I’ve played with 4 different groups, and a couple times where some of those same people are mixed into yet other groups. That’s

Yeah, I stumbled across that one too.  It was pretty good.

See, I wish there was something more descriptive so you know whether you’re following a storyline properly or if you had instigated NPC reactions.

For example, I was riding north of St. Denis and came across a guy who “wanted to be my friend”. Super creepy, I was sure he was going to pull something, but I wanted to see

Yeah, I’m in agreement with some of your complaints. The weapon thing really bugs me, especially when you ride up somewhere and it auto-initiates the mission, meaning you may or may not have the opportunity to select your weapons before hopping onto a stagecoach and being forced to leave it all behind. Another,

My apologies, I should have checked the other replies!

One option, though it would require online connectivity, would be to release a character loadout app. This isn’t an insane suggestion, they actually had the exact thing for Fallout 4 so you could slide your phone into your Pipboy (that came with the super expensive version) and wear that giant monstrosity as you play.

Well, I’m in the camp that the first one was a broken game compared to the original Battlefront/Battlefront II, but your point stands.  These games don’t even meet Battlefield standards.  I don’t know why they acquired the license for Star Wars when they’ve shown no capability of putting out something even passable.

Same. I played 4 offline matches, one online match... and I haven’t played it since. I would play it again, but it’s worth more to burn the $15 I spent than continue to feel disappointed and depressed at how much worse it is than a game 13 years and two console generations ago...

I had a great one on io9 a couple weeks ago!  Basically, a user accused me of arguing ‘in bad faith’ while revealing that they had been actually lying during the entire exchange.  After I pointed that out they mysteriously disappeared...

A lot of this feels like Shadow of War stuff...

I appreciate that your article appeared to be non-committal to your views, but just reporting the facts on the ground.

Rome II has always been a mess since launch.  I’ve stuck with Medieval II, and this doesn’t really sway me one way or another to try Rome II again.

And you can FOH with all that “my race = I know more that you” nonsense.

There’s kind of a common narrative that argues or implies that if a person or work is in the public eye, that person or work is obligated to be some kind of political statement or moral leader.
