UPDATE: I closed the app completely and re-opened it and it popped up with a “WHAT’S NEW” window for the Running. It now shows up in the menu (along side search, browse, activity, etc).

Um... False. Windows 8 is a lot more resource friendly in a lot of ways. The only negativity I’ve ever heard leveled at windows 8 was the (admittedly poorly executed) “start menu.” Easy fix with Classic Shell. Once that unfortunate little blight was remedied I don't know anyone who preferred 7.
