Possibly not a dream. In your groggy state, your subconscious may have picked up enough of the timbre of even faint calls (screams) to manufacture a scenario. Or. Perhaps in your sleep-dep state, you were more open and accessible to any urgent energy streaming around you. If that poor girl were semi-conscious but

I submitted a spooky not scary one a bit ago, but the more I read there some of the sweet ones make remember this story, which is pure coincidence (if you believe in that even).

This is part actual crime- part something else, so trigger warning for domestic violence; and if you’re thinking about getting out of a bad relationship for any reason, let this be the sign that you need to get out ASAP.

FYI, this one is kinda frustrating because it doesn’t really have much closure, but it’s something that has weirded me out for a long time.

I already submitted a scary story from childhood at the beginning of the month. This creepy incident happened last night.

The Rock & Roll “possession”

Terrifying, especially not being able to get in the car fast enough

Condolences on the (relatively recent) loss of your loved one.
I wonder - as you established/decided this was a respectful and benevolent relationship - whether the previous owner decided to relocate with you so as not to leave you alone during a period of grief. That - having received the pleasure of being directly ac

Creaky Visitor

I used to live in Reno and sure do recognize that quality of Twilight darkness in that region of the Eastern Sierras. When the sun starts to go down and it’s during the Fall/Winter, it’s a heavy type of cold and blackness. Also your actual encounter, your instincts were correct to haul ass and get away from that

Two short stories - both told to me by the folks it happened to in NYC, and for some reason I found super creepy.

1 - My friend “Mickey” had some time to kill one afternoon so he went into a well known midtown Irish pub for a pint of Guinness (or 2 or 3). As he is leaving the bar, he notices a disheveled older guy

I’d like to think this guy was just a mean big brother type who had little sisters and knew exactly how to terrorise and scare them . But I agree that it’s the amount of time and effort that went into trying to find you that makes that theory not quite add up. My big bro would go to great lengths to get me or my

Boo. GTFOH with your bad and unnecessary hot takes.

The summer I turned 15, my dad moved the family to Alaska to satisfy his craving for solitude and unspoiled nature. Our rental house was in a pretty spot on top of a hill, but was really isolated. We’re talking a 30+ minute drive from town, steep dirt road most of the way, with no neighbors around for a couple miles.

The summer before Covid I was part of a field research project that required us to camp in a quiet California state park. Our campsite was about two hundred yards from the toilets, and the women would wait for daylight to run to the loos or go in pairs after dark.

Thank you for the well wishes. I can say that we were given the amazing opportunity to adopt my dog’s littermate, who completed our family and we are all very happy together. Neighborly horrors continue to plague but it will be a long time before I can write in a public-facing way about what we live with these days. I

Can’t remember if I submitted this one previously.

I’d be willing to bet this person works this type of #NotAllMen diatribe into almost every conversation, no matter how relevant or appropriate.

definitely not. and the edit really ties the room together, no?

Back when I was on dating apps, I match with this guy and he’s really cute. He had a shirtless mirror selfie as his profile pic which was usually a hard pass for me, but he seemed sweet/nerdy so I talked to him. He tells me how he’s really worked on his body because he was a nerd and really awkward with women.
