Apologies for the “Video tape” burn, I thought it was too good to leave out ;)

You’re right. There isn’t a perfect analogy because this is such a new, unique thing. However I think you and everyone on this thread knows exactly the comparison being drawn here:

I used to defend him because I gave him the benefit of the doubt for the other controversies. “It’s just a joke, just for show” mentality...

I cannot say “thank you” enough

Wait. Something. Is. Different. Here.

I’m really hoping they let you port over your collection...I’m sick of having cards everywhere (paper, duels, MTGO, that steam client one, probably others?) only to have a platform canceled

Well the game mechanically wont be more like Hearthstone.

I wish they would just UPDATE the current platform instead of creating a new, separate one every few years? Now they have opened the door (again) to inevitably shut down one product, (which they just recently did) making a lot of customers unhappy for investing money into them

Sure its not a perfect 1-1 analogy

I’m illustrating that listening to music and playing video games in this context are nearly identical. Using his own phrasing and the fact that almost everybody listens to music should help people come to the conclusion that watching streamers isn’t that farfetched.

Seems like you have a very narrow view of Twitch. There are thousands of different games streamed by even more thousands of people. And now it isn’t even limited to games.

The only part about listening to music on the radio I can understand is maybe you’re a kid and don’t have money to buy all the instruments, so you just have to listen to other people. As for adults, I don’t got time for that.

It amazes me that there are people in this world that can “have no idea why anyone does X”. Really? You’re seriously claiming that, after reading an article on a very popular media outlet, you still cannot fathom how people give a shit about streamers or podcasters.

Really the sports comparison is the best in my opinion. The same questions you may have about why people watch streamers can be asked/answered as to why people watch sports...entertainment, education, some major competitive event, or you just enjoy the game

Yet you just listed 2 reasons yourself?

Wait for the “I just don’t understand how ESports is a thing, guy”

Which is how it will be actually played, I’m guessing the performance must not be as high with actual kb+m movement speed

Are they really using a controller here for a PC demo!? Or was it on purpose to avoid any screen tearing visible with the quicker KB+M movement

Can Gamestop just go away already

This is a really great explanation
