Those names are people who worked on the movie!

Yeah, I saw a piece with Burgundy getting confused over Capaldi's casting in Doctor Who which was amusing but oddly specific target marketing.

Well if you were wondering what the arguments in its favour were…

A few years ago (and at its peak) Battlestar Galactica would have been that show - the one that a lot of outlets saw as being worthy of the crown. It's funny in retrospect considering how it stumbled in the end game but I remember reading pieces debating between it and The Wire as the best drama of all time.

I disagree - I still think the scene of Gizmo dancing is fantastic. Could I figure out how it's done? Sure, but - for me - that doesn't take away any of the wonder or charm of the moment.

Liked for the book reference. That version of Hammond was indeed a dick.

I saw this last month and it really is excellent. I agree with all of this review (though it's a shame that it hints at where the film goes as, although the fear of it starts to creep in, you don't know whether the film will do what it's suggesting it will). The child actors are fantastic and, though I'd disagree with

Now listen, Dowd - I read the problems some have with your reviews or grades or rankings and, though I may share their concerns sometimes, I don't get involved. But then I read this one and I can't let it go -

Is this the one where Frank's frisking a suspect but reaches into Ed's jacket instead?

"I love being single! I haven't had this much sex since I was a boy scout leader!

I maintain that Gremlins 2 might be the greatest example of a sequel ever. It's a biased view just because of how much I love it but I think it twists and comments on the original just enough to not overdo it and brings a lot of fresh stuff to the table. It knows its place and role and it exploits it to brilliant

This is exactly how I see it. Ozymandias is the natural conclusion to the path Walter started out on. It's where his journey - and his empire - ends, something further cemented by the cold open with the first lie and the first cook, cutting after the opening titles to where that has led. The following two episodes are

One minute you feel like you're enjoying a nice little mental treat for yourself…

Hence me realising that it wasn't the case. Up until that point I had the sense that Gerwig and Baumbach were in love with this character they had created and that we were supposed to be finding her adorable in her quirkiness whereas all I wanted to do is reach through the screen and shake her screaming "grow the fuck

Looking at the above embedded video it looks like an amped-up version of the hovercopter levels on Alex Kidd in Miracle World on the Master System II - same fluidity and everything.

Like every film in the trilogy repeat viewings have made me fall in love with it.

It's a movie I may never choose to watch again per se but if I'm with someone who hasn't seen it I will happily insist they watch it and be there to share in their reaction.

Which is what makes it realistic and so painful to watch/empathise with. Watching from the outside of those fights it's easy to find points where a moment's thought could avert emotional disaster but when you're in the heat of it it's hard to see through the mist.

Not to be one of those people who clutters threads like this with "Why isn't X film on the list?!" but your mentioning of Stories We Tell and it's absence from this list makes the fact The Counsellor made it even more baffling. I realise it's a) subjective and b) down to a democratic voting/points system but how many

This is how I felt as well, but at around the halfway mark when they reached the dinner party scene I realised that the film wasn't idolising this character, or at least they seemed to tone that down and start judging her for her outlook on life. That seemed to continue and allowed me to have some empathy for the
