I’m usually not one of those quick to judge people, and I know it’s a set pic without the proper lighting, blah, blah, blah....

That’s a lot of padding.

It is entirely due to market pressures. They were basically so successful that everyone wanted a piece of the market, and the way you carve out a piece of the market is you deny your rivals content so that people spend their limited entertainment budget on your streaming service and not your competitor’s. Netflix was

Netflix-cutters is the new Cable-cutters.

Like...you guys do understand that other studios are withholding their back catalog deliberately from Netflix, either because other streaming services are paying more for exclusive rights or because they have plans to cut out the middleman and start their own streaming services, right? I mean, you keep using the words

I think Craig Ferguson would have closed the deal.

I would expect him to be cagey about all unannounced projects until they’re, you know, announced.

More than likely, Feige had the movies for Phase 4 lined up a long, long time ago, which means Femvengers wouldn’t fit in until Phase 5.

I disagree about Johannson’s Black Widow, but Gurira’s Okoye absolutely blew me away.

So what I’m hearing is that the time is right for an Evie O’Connell spinoff?

Hear hear!

What frustrates me is the surprisingly large number of folks who seem to *only* want fan service and nothing else/new.

Its just so infuriating that the cheap fanservice works for SO MANY people.

That’s a generous grade. Plot-wise, this episode was terrible, rushed and lazy. And anticlimactic? Good lord!

“The less you think about it, the more fun Star Trek: Discovery is”

But don’t you see? As an existing fan of trek your opinion doesn’t count. You are only allowed to take what they give you with no complaint.

This show kindof needs someone keeping track of the little things, though.

But Star Trek is a show you’re supposed to think about. Not every detail to distraction, but at its core its supposed to be a show that says - or at last tries to say - something a little weight with every episode.

The reason I walked away from it was that it seemed to have nothing insightful or interesting to say
