France.
France.
In the french dub, there’s not even a hint of african accent, and everybody speaks perfect french. Which is both funny and weird, since all characters were dubbed by black actors (Disney’s order), and we’re not exactly short on people able to speak french with african accents, but apparently, having characters speak…
Honestly, at this point, it’s been so long since Whedon has written anything above-average that it’s probably better that way.
Well.... Whedon’s s8 & 9 were so bad I gave up shortly afterwards, and never really came back full-time. So...
Indeed. And he probably also has alternate Phase 4 & 5 plans scheduled (feat. the F4 & maybe some mutants), in case the Fox/Disney deal works as planned, so... an all-female movie at this point, just for the sake of having one and pleasing the bloggers is probably not on his agenda right now.
I think it really all depends on Chibnall.
Eh... apples and oranges, really.
“Stop whining and enjoy these prequels before your whining makes them go away, and you have nothing to whine about.” - Star Wars fans, 1999-2005
If you don’t like where those ST reviews have gone, stop reading, stop complaining & commenting and stop criticizing those who don’t enjoy the new Trek. Just my 2¢.
Eh, if the first seasons of Enterprise are considered Star Trek, then this is Star Trek, too. Shinier - but just as badly written & characterized - Trek.
Honestly, I (along with many others, I guess) called the Enterprise popping up as a season ender as soon as the pilot aired. It’s just basic cheap fanservice 101, and judging by some reactions here and elsewhere, it’s enough to make this finale the greatest thing in the universe for some people.
It’s most likely a very US thing (heck, the book wasn’t even translated & published in France until late 2017, thanks to the upcoming movie), but I think the hype is more due to the people involved than to the quality or the renown of the source material.
Too bad they already have the perfect Lobo in Aquamomoa...
I love people missing the point of this deepfake experiment, and going on and on and on about how it wouldn’t hold up on a theater screen, how it’s just as blurry, how it’s low-res and thus not as good, and so on.
Even if it probably was a software error during publishing, I can’t help but think Rob & KT deliberately switched their names just for the sake of trolling the critics. And it worked.
That’s the most hilarious thing of it all, really.
Yeah... I remain unconvinced. It’s grey, grey, and more grey ; the trailer’s score is just bad & synthetic ; Ehrenreich just leaves me cold as solo ; and I’m not sold on Daenerys...
This teaser’s score is just... bad.
It’s weird (and it’s clearly gonna go into the unpopular opinion category) but this season finale made me realize that I didn’t really care anymore for Chidi & Eleanore, especially not as a couple.
It’s been my problem with Valiant comics, for a while. People kept selling those to me as “a fresh new world, where you don’t have to read umpteen series and crossovers to fully understand everything, perfect for new readers to get on board at any point”, so I ended up giving it a try.
