If anything, I find this particular grade too high. The direction was a mess, the writing had problems (then again, that’s nothing new for the DC/CW shows), the acting was uneven, and overall, I felt it just wasn’t up to the first part, which was less all over the place.

“- Where do you do the Death Stroke ?

IIRC my years of watching Impact (*sigh*), for the longest time, the “zoom in on each strike/move” situation only happened with one particular ringside cameraman, which made it pretty noticeable when the action changed corners or spilled to the floor.

Absolutely, but here, somehow, I’m not feeling it as much as I expected to. The laidback, jokey scenes with his bff Billy, the guitar, the somewhat comfy bunks, and so on... it’s a far cry from the Vietnam hell comic-book Frank has lived through.

Funnily enough, I was kind of disappointed by how & what Kandahar turned out to be. I don’t know if it was the directing of the botched mission sequence or just the fact that I kind of struggle with the way this particular Punisher is written/acted, but it just fell flat for me.

Honestly far from sold on Sonequa’s work on the show, at the very least as a lead : she’s still the least interesting character on STD, to me, and although a huge part of that is due to the writing, the acting still bothers me, here and there.

Let’s just hope it’s not another one of those rushed 37-minutes-and-done Discovery episodes...

This scene is straight out of the comics, though.

Well, the Klingons have been presented, so far, as scheming, honorless, difform, eat, torture & rape your ennemies dark-skinned savages & religious fanatics (with two d*cks, to better rape our women), so yeah, a Pakistani actor playing the embedded terrorist leader of those Klingons would fit right in.

And yet, not two Star Trek fans can seem to agree on what constitutes good Star Trek, so...

That's about my stance on it, too : I like her, I fear Chibnall, but at least that's one interesting thing to look forward to during his run as showrunner.

The main "heroic theme" from Doctor Strange's first two phrases are almost identical to the main theme from Star Trek

Yeah, as much as I resent Zimmer for his usual shortcuts, and the way his influence & methods have transformed the industry for the worst, Hans Zimmer, the man, seems to be a pretty likeable guy.

To be fair, by that point in the series' life, the budget just kept on being tighter and tighter as a condition of their renewal, so they probably didn't even have enough money for one more punch. ^^

Man, that will look AWESOME in IMAX. ^^

To be fair, that's also what's Once Upon A Time has been doing for a few years now (one big story arc for each half of the season), and that hasn't prevented the show for being an awful, awful mess… all the while still suffering from filler episodes & repetitive storylines. Granted, it's OUAT, so it's not necessarily

Man, I struggle with the "Aries & Neville stole the show at Mania" talk. I struggled with it during the match, when everyone online was extatic about it, I struggled with it afterwards, when everybody was "man, they've set the bar so high the rest of the show won't compare", and I struggle with it now.

This one didn't really work for me.

Just have him be friggin Moon Knight, or something.
