Yeah I agree the average temp here in Chicago has been hovering around 20° for the last week with wind chills of 6° I sure as hell not going to walk around in that crap for some damn Pokemon. As I type this the temp is freaking 8°.

Exactly. If I wanted to live downtown in the Boston area, I would only look at condos. But, I think we’ll rent downtown for a few years (family property, family rate), then look to buy in the suburbs when it’s family time.

The vast majority of houses in the United States were built before 1970, and depending on what region you live in, could have been built 100-200 years ago. Older houses tend to appreciate faster than newer houses.
