I wonder how many people turned the show off after the cold open and monologue, which I thought were pretty bland. They would have missed an overall strong show, but I would not have begrudged them for thinking “if this is the best they can do, the rest of this show must be some real shit.”

In fairness, when the door was opened in the Rona Family sketch and Lauren was standing there, for about three seconds I thought Aidy was back.

I have a number of friends who spend the month of December making thousands of cookies and brag about it on social media. The truth of the matter is that cookies aren’t meant to last long, they get stale really quickly unless frozen and then freezer burn really quickly too. By the time anyone making 5000 cookies gets

Safety purposes. One of my closest friends just had to deal with this. A parent mailed homemade cookies to all of her kid’s teachers despite the school’s policy against it. Even when we’re not in a pandemic, we don’t have any idea how people keep their kitchens.

Most of the large-scale cast cuts were forced by NBC, which is the main difference now. If the ratings slip I do wonder if they will order some cast cuts, unless Lorne has told them he won’t be replacing most of the people who are leaving (I think anywhere up to about 8 or 9 people could be leaving this season) and

I do think Kate, Cecily, and/or Aidy might have been in the position to make the previous season their last one until it wound up cut short by the pandemic, and I wonder if they all felt like they could use an extra season to go out on their own terms (McKinnon in particular I’m pretty sure had to renew a contract for

“It’s funny because it’s random” in comedian form.

I posted this a couple of years ago. I actually volunteer twice a month there now— you are correct, this year we cannot accept food gifts—even from an insider! Instead I will make a basket of packaged snacks and beverages. It is chilly in the distribution barn, we are doing drive through pre-made bags this year and

Someone doesn’t remember Early 2017 Discourse. Melissa McCarthy did the Sean Spicer thing, Trump was (supposedly) pissed and embarrassed that his guy was being played by a girl (1), everyone (#resistance Twitter) immediately decided that it would be the highest form of trollery if the entire Trump administration was

This is nonsense. People from Philly won’t shut up about WAWA. People from California won’t shut up about In and Out. ect. ect. People like their regional things and love to tell you how special their local whatever is.

Yeah, why would the reboot keep the door open for him? He is disgusting, absolutely no one wants to see him (least of all the viewers) and it would erase all the goodwill the reboot has garnered by being an actually good and funny series.

I was born and raised in Boston, so I’m naturally predisposed to think of New Yorkers as perfect assholes.

Go ahead and share it with us and let us know where the recipe (mostly) comes from, then specify what your unique minor additions are!

I also read piece when it came out. The idea of getting your kid into a niche sport to boost their chances of being accepted by an elite university struck me as something that probably worked reliably well 10+ years ago, but which now has too many people trying to exploit it, and so its success rate is dropping.

Voorhees apparently has mental health issues. I don’t know if they reached out or not, never read anything along the lines. But the couple times she’s made news it’s for the wrong reasons. Just nothing on the level of Diamond’s self-immolation.

Yes, they taste quite different. I grew up eating sweet potato pie; it tastes like candied sweet potatoes, which is to say sweet potatoes cooked with sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and vanilla, mashed smooth and mixed with evaporated milk and eggs, then baked in a deliciously flaky crust. If the filling is made correctly and

That’s true of most professions or hobbies though. People tend to oversimplify things they don’t know.

I am sorry for your experience. I just mentioned elsewhere a couple of weeks ago my cousin did a nice assortment of sweet and savory items, I threw in a few of my own and we made gift baskets for friends/family but also local organizations like the Food Bank and their volunteers. The baskets were hella appreciated. My

Number three is huge - and if you’re close family and you STILL hand someone who is committed to eating no flour or sugar a plate of your cookies with the admonition to just “share them with coworkers...” you’re kind of an ass.

When I was in middle and high school, I was way into baking and candy-making. I did a TON of it for holidays, birthdays and bake sales. It got to the point that I was making all of the gifts my mom gave out to the multitude of people one needs to get a “small” gift for: secretaries, hair stylist, my music tutor, the
