Bay City Blues - while largely terrible - was one of my faves for the eight or so weeks it was on. ESPN Classic ran them all a few years back, and it was worth watching for ( a ) A young Sharon Stone, ( b ) Michelle Greene and ( c ) Kelly Harmon.

Ball Four only lasted a few episodes. Pitch was a one-and-done, right? I

I have no idea why the myth persists that people buy muffins because they’re deluded that muffins are diet food, or at least healthy in some way. Nobody thinks that! People eat muffins for the taste, not out of any health halo. Fat people aren’t as stupid as thin people think.

That’s what’s mentioned in the “article,” though...

Except people actually do argue that the energy balance equation does not impact weight loss. Granted, none in this thread so far but a lot of low carb zealots believe that.

Well, I mean...

Ahh, gotcha. In that case, I think you’re correct.

This is a great point and one reason Renee Zellweger might have been picked over Kate Winslet. If I’m looking for an actress to play a plain Jane ordinary girl, Zellweger is the clear choice.

Flawed? Yeah. Lovable? To some, maybe, but only because you’re supposed to automatically find the protagonist lovable in a romantic comedy. As far as I can tell, Bridget Jones has absolutely no redeeming qualities. She’s priggishly judgmental, intellectually incurious, casually cruel, and she constantly embarrasses

When Harry Met Sally is still arguably the gold-standard when it comes to modern romantic comedies.

Colin Firth is the poster boy for the expression “British handsome.” Were the exact same man born in Oklahoma, he’d be an insurance rep now.

I remember reading that they came up with it because microwaving their instant burritos was a *horrible time sink* keeping them away from their precious code (or something like that).

The story was supposed to be released on April 1st not February 2nd. The Rodent Renaissance chips were the Groundhog Day release! Someone had one job.....

Dr. Lawyer said “sexual abuse OR abuse of power.” It definitely was an abuse of power. If your boss responds to doubts or hesitation to doing something dangerous on the job with fury, they are abusing their power. It should “bring him down” (i.e., take him out of that position of power) if that’s a good way to prevent

Yea, I’ve never been one for counting calories, but I was having a run where no matter what I did I kept gaining weight (I had switched from a labor job to a desk job which just threw everything off).

Wait, what? People called Tina Fey racist for that? Goodness, modern progressives are insufferable. It’s no wonder we can’t win anything consistently. I can’t wait until we get replaced by robots.

Dude. Nothing matters anymore.

Because Jessica Chastain is ethnic. You racist.

I haven’t read it in years, but wasn’t every line of dialogue spoken by a non-James Frey character a compliment about how tough and real James Frey was?

Tech will undoubtedly get there, but not with (just) a camera. For exactly the reason the article points out. A camera can’t tell the difference between skim and whole milk just by looking (maybe some day it could tell from a video based on the minute differences in consistency, but it certainly couldn’t tell them

having just spent the past 8 years watching Michelle Obama be roasted for eating kale, for growing vegetables in the Rose Garden, for trying to get people to eat proper food instead of the kind of garbage Trump eats, sure you aren’t pointing at a mirror there?
