No!!! Prim sucks. She is a whiny, pathetic character in the first book and I was never able to get over it.

Awwwww, but there’s always a love story. Even if it’s the love of your home (The Wizard of Oz), or the love of friends (Harry Potter), or learning to love yourself (Eat, Pray, Love). Romantic love is an easy thing for an author to pull in, so it was nice that The Hunger Games didn’t do that 100%.

I think Katniss’s mind was on something other than love, so she couldn’t even figure things out for herself. That, in itself, is refreshing for a YA novel. Her plan was that she would make things right with the world, and then figure out her personal life when she saw what was left. Love and yearning never drove…

The author foreshadowed PTSD through the entire series. Katniss’s nightmares, Peeta’s nightmares, Haymitch’s alcohol problems, Annie’s delirium, the morphlings’ self-medication..... they had all seen terrors that they would never overcome.

Really? I never saw any real drama between Peeta and Gale. Gale was obviously the friend she has known the longest, so she felt a friendship/loyalty love for him since the beginning. He felt something else for her, but she clearly cut him off several times and told him that wasn’t anything she could think about right…

Me, too. I wake up bitter lately.
