Man, these did not age well.  Add in the ugly yellow paint and trim and chrome(!) wheels and this is an easy CP or whatever means NOPE these days.

Read the headline. Vote No Dice. Read the whole article. Confirm.

I can’t believe some people are actually considering this pathetic waste.

This is a loser on all fronts.

Sure did!

This is a car more for your bank account than for sparking joy, but it’s a compelling option for people who just want a cheap commuter.

there is a number out there for everyone that lives in a big city and drives a manual. it’s the number of times you sit in gridlock before you say “fuck this manual.”

Unpopular opinion, the Manual’s time is over, let it die.

As is tradition! This falls right in line with the Buick Encore and Scion xB.

Reading your comment immediately made me think of the Honda Element for some reason

seems like it ticks a lot of the “young person/family just starting off” boxes. should sell like crazy” to retirees...

Yeah, it’s pretty much “enjoy it while it lasts.” Everyone assuming there will be even a remotely strong market for manuals forever hasn’t driven a current-gen DSG. You can get a $20,000 Kia with better transmission tech than a 10 year old Ferrari. It’s insane. And this leaves out the whole “EV’s will eventually make

OK, so I went to the dark side. In fact, I went to the darkest of dark sides, the Subaru CVT automatic. Wanna know something crazy? So far I haven’t missed my manual transmission once. I say this as a man who had had pretty much nothing but manual transmissions my whole life.

I’ve driven manuals for 15 years now, and I just got an A3 with the DSG for my daily. It’s pretty great. I’ll probably get a fun weekend car with a manual but day to day you really get the best of both worlds with a DSG. They can gear those so unbelievably short because it can shift so fast, that even a like 128hp

The 6 speed auto in my Escape was adequate at best. It did bare minimum of converting engine power into movement. It shifted at odd times, occasionally held gears too long, and was slower to downshift than any 4 speed auto I had ever driven.

If I could have a family car and a fun car, then the fun car would be a manual. But cars are getting expensive while salaries are barely hanging with inflation, so a fun car is not going to happen. If it’s going to be only one car then it’s going to be an automatic, I no longer want to deal with a manual in rush hour

Currently all my cars/truck are manual.  It next car will likely be electric...so it will be the end of an era for me.

100% correct. That was defensive mama chasing him off, not the silent, deadly huntress that would pounce from the side when he least expected it.

Yep.  It was making a big show of how much he should leave.  It was *not* hunting him.
