It's a movie, not a fanfilm. They couldn't do a helmet like that without having them look like cosplayers, and the Arc Reactor looking stuff would only confuse audiences who know that's linked to the Cosmic Cube in the MCU.
They took a leaf out of the Captain America book with those Nova uniforms and put all the iconography, colour included, on some pseudo-practical. I approve. Reminds me a little of DREDD actually, which I wouldn't have been able to predict.
