I think everyone involved probably feels as confident as they possibly could - it's a TV spinoff of one of the biggest hit movies ever (or most successful brands if you want to look at it that way) from the same creator. It's bound to be a hit. But they're trained to be cautiously optimistic, and everyone online is

I was thinking the same. It's possible that they're too ambitious. They're over-reliant on CGI for one thing (LOST was a fantastic looking show, but remember that submarine?) and they went the cosplayer/theme park direction with their costumes, and that's always going to look cheap.

Robbed. We were robbed of a Starfleet Officer with a drippy, juicy Jheri Curl.

Made me titter.

That's a pretty absurd distinction to me, they're all just creatures. And these characters are just as much "advanced beings" as characters like the Jotuns and Dark Elves in Thor...but seeing as how (I'm assuming) you're unfamiliar with the cosmic side of Marvel, I get it, I guess. I wouldn't be so close-minded

Why is that different from Treebeard or characters like Reepicheep and Yoda?

"One small step for a man" just doesn't have the same ring to it.

The cast and production design don't save Chronicles, and both it and The Faculty are entertaining (your mileage may vary) but not many people are going to argue that they're QUALITY entertainment. That's all this list is, a "worth watching" list of films with generally bad reps. I think Reign of Fire is WAY worse

It's not a spoiler AT ALL. Promise. I'd watch is as soon as you can though, it's a very easily spoiled movie.

NOTHING bad about MIB.

Such subtle trolling.

Logan's Run is pure awesome through and through.

What's "plain wrong" or "controversial"? Apart from maybe Face/Off or Demolition Man you rarely hear positive things said about these films...

...what would be the point in not watching it? You've had nothing spoiled.

...why?

Recycling?

I feel your pain. I clicked this thinking it was a critic who was unimpressed with a preview of the forthcoming book or something.

We're living in it. Children of Men, District 9, Inception, Moon, Monsters, Looper...and things seem to be cranking into high gear next year!
