I can't believe I'm watching an ET video that isn't a thirty second clip, machine-gun edited, with some idiot jabbering over the top of it.

I was really shocked at the designs initially. Not raging at all, just completely taken by surprise. I think it's cool that they're really distinctive, I think everyone was just expecting several Gimlis.
Surprisingly crude animation, especially when compared with the student projects so often featured on io9. Obviously it's low-budget, but it doesn't seem as though they chose a style of animation that would allow for budget limitations to be passed off at stylization.
I bet comments have dwindled significantly. I just cant be bothered to click every single comment and make one myself, or participate in multiple discussions now. It's too much effort compared with just skimming comments like in a NORMAL comments thread.
It'd be pretty amazing if his Sci-Fi movie was incredible. Like, irrefutably great, and he should've been working in the genre all along.
Ugh. This is also how I discover this system redirects me to my "inbox" instead of the article, complete with other comments. Great.
Same. I went from reserving judgement to disliking this really fast. I hope the inconvenience of it is rectified soon. I really don't see what we've gained here at all.
Yeah, this seems like a major disadvantage to me. It's unnecessarily complicated to have to click on each and every discussion rather than just scroll down and skim. It's just like when the site got revamped and there was no blog view, I really don't understand the rationale in making your content less accessible...
This looks super weird. Just, and unusual tone for a film like this. It's interesting simply because it's so unexpected. I feel like this should be a Japanese movie. But it isn't.
Never trust a cylon.
No no no, it's "GHEEVE DIS PEPUL AYAH"
I was thinking the same thing. Actually, I was thinking Stone wins...
Great style.
I thought Bill Nighy was.
I wish Hollywood wasn't so averse to lengthy titles when it comes to popcorn flicks lately. I'd love it if they went with 'We Can Remember It For You'.
I saw the original movie yesterday for the first time. I never bought the hype, but it is really good. It reminded me of The Fifth Element, really colorful and over the top, only ultraviolent.
I think this side by side says a lot - taking away Mars, mutants and making things grounded instead of zany is stripping Total Recall of a lot of its personality. I might end up liking this movie, some stuff looks really cool, but it does look a lot less inspired when compared with the original, just on a surface…
I assure you, it was hilarious. Great bit of characterization. I'm worrying they'll cut it because of test audiences or something now...
