It's the whole AVC trying to judge a show against itself thing. Works fine when a season has come and gone, but it makes them sheepish with the grades to start out with because there's little to no context.

I do. Apart from the one in The Social Network.

Their exchanges are pretty much:
- Look at all this BS.
- Rust, you're a jerk.

I'm now picturing Deschanel having her own McConnaisance. Rising like a phoenix from the ashes, leaving her MPDG days in the past, leading True Detective Season 5.

They've set the bar SO high.

Seven of Nine joins the show on Valentine's Day, I could picture her bringing a DHARMA Initiative vibe with her. The only thing really stopping it from having that vibe right now is that there isn't a pleasant veneer over all the sinister, it's just straight sinister.

Gone too soon.

I hadn't seriously considered aliens until reading it here like twice. My mind was running along the lines of some kind of Super Soldier Program. I guess aliens would tie things together fairly neatly though. Still leaves the virus a mystery - what are they trying to convert humans into and why? Hosts, maybe?

I read it as deference, like he's a superior to whatever the Vectors are on their way to becoming.

"might suggest that the reason that the patriarch is the only uncompromised character is that he is the patriarch, and competence porn requires that we trust in our institutions and leaders."

I really love the word 'mirakuru' and the amount it was used in the previously segment pleased me greatly. Am I alone?

I do think the old one was bad. It looked like cosplay, in that it tried very hard to bring a comics look into the real world. This brings a real-world look to the comics look, if that makes sense.

So many good opportunities to kill her off this episode too.

Awwwwwww yissssssssss.

She's also playing a male-identifying girl in House of Lies right now. Seems to be her thing.

That whole exchange was so great. I don't think any two characters play off each other as well in this show as the three of them do. Such a good dynamic.

Thea has the perfect everything.

He must have great rates.

INT. QUEEN BOARDROOM - DAY

It's the kind of thing that's so…obvious. I'm just surprised the New Girl team didn't go straight for a subversion. Like, she's innately awesome and Nick gets fired for sucking in comparison, or something. The show USUALLY turns things on their head when they've been done a million times.
