i just looked that the 2013 vmas performance. it’s the pretty damn similar with just a different audio mix, but i’ll repeat the sentiment of letting context getting in the way of the narrative. if anything his live band is better and more flushed out now.

I think the idea of a “main attraction” is subjective. I always found the graphics, scope of interactivity within the highly detailed settings the coolest part, and the seemingly large scale setting of the whole world to be what set this apart.
