The word itself has a negative root: the usage of the word generally speaking, is a slur, with the exception of the categories I defined above from Randall Kennedy. I’m open to the idea that there are more categories that might have emerged, but the use of the word outside my own culture is derivative of inner culture

This is not how language works, generally. Context and intent are integral to figuring out if a word is offensive or not, or is being used in an offensive way. If I say “Your post is shit” it’s meant in an offensive way, but if I say, “shit, I never thought of that” it’s meant as a compliment. Same word.

The word itself is evocative of violence against actual real people, and to use it in as a reference to another person is to use the history of the word and the definitions attached to it as an attack. This is not a massive leap, that’s literally what makes the word a slur in the first place.

Okay, this one for me.
