I highly recommend reading the SOAR book for anyone that has flying phobia or discomfort. I was losing sleep for a week before travel, even when it was a 3-4 hour flight. Xanax and a whiskey in the air would only semi-curb the impending feels of doom especially on 9+ hour flights.
