I was never a prolific commenter, but with this new design I just can’t be bothered anymore. The site’s layout is extremely unappealing, articles move off the main page too fast, it’s essentially impossible to have a conversation, you have to reload the entire page to see new comments, there’s barely any nesting so…
Comment sorting is even more important. Depending on how old or new a story was and how many or how few comments there were, I was prone to using all three settings on Disqus, newest, oldest or best.

Sometimes there are good reasons for good manners. Sometimes what’s considered “good manners” is ridiculous, like elbows on a table, for example. There’s no reason someone shouldn’t be able to rest their elbows on a table.
