One of the reasons I was told people cover their plates (at track days at least) is that its an attempt to hide it from your insurer should they go snooping and see that you are "racing". Another is tax reasons, say you post a picture of your fancy new car all souped up with bling and the like. Well I've heared that

That they are good at giving car advice. Mainly on what to buy. Most have preconceived ideas on whats the best brand or what they want in a car that they wont give great advice.

It's also why you go to track days. No Semis around the corner there.

As stupid as it sounds Im sure most if not all drivers have had moments where they may not even remember their drives. On a few occasions I have left work, then just a few minutes form home in my hour long commute and think. "When did I get here?" with little recollection of the past hour.

Weather permitting. My motorcycle and the scenic route. Sure it takes a bit longer but it beats the straight line highway cruising. I had reached a point where I was on auto pilot when driving to and from work that I didnt even remember most of my drive But on my bike Im more alert and engaged in the commute. Edit.

This right here. Too many people hold VWs in high regard due to their German Engineering, but really they aren't great. Sure maybe the new models may have improved but I will not go any where near anything pre-2007. Hell I know a few people having troubles with VWs only 2/3 years old. Also I find they are a pain to

I can believe that. I almost did that myself this past weekend.

Yeah, Id say its about 90% (max) car. The rest is a mix of drunk driver/LOL Florida/ loose car related celebrity gossip and bad parking jobs. And that percentage is dropping more and more.

I would be reevaluating what Im doing in life if I had to take time to write an article about a rumoured seamen stained picture posted on a car forum.

"What advantages does this motor car have over, say, a train, which I could also afford"

Common misconception, ABS improves braking distance by allowing the tire tread to do as it is engineered and make contact with the road and now create a slippery layer of melted rubber of a contact patch

Yup, ID isn't designing and driving Ferraris and partying with supermodels. Its dealing with extreme penny pinchers and tight deadlines. The road to becoming an auto designer is a long arduous not to mention expensive task. I have friends doing it and while they have cool stories, Im okay with taking the easy way out

I went to school in Toronto for my Bachelor Degree. I decided to get just about any local design type job I could after graduating about 3 years ago. Which included a year as an unpaid intern. this is what most of my fellow classmates did, if they didn't just give up on an Industrial Design career. Out of the class of

I too went to school for Transportation Design and at the beginning of the 4 years I was allinto getting my Masters and pursuing a career. Well at the end of the Degree Id say I got sick of vehicle design. Well more so the egos of some, and the need to have a seemingly bottomless bank account. Since going to Art

Design. You spend years in school getting Masters Degrees, spending a ridiculous amount of money(in most cases), often having to relocate for the education, probably halfway around the world if you dont live near one of the major College. Have long late nights while in school, its super competitive, and have to deal

Sad truth is, alot of people don't know what those lines mean.

Well the driver of the car was passing over a blind hill crest, so they pretty much deserved to end up in the ditch, hopefully the passengers were okay. After seeing that video a few days ago, I realized that I live on that stretch of road. It is notorious for stupid, impatient drivers who are in a rush to get to and

And some people just don't care for those lines.

Im with you on that, but it seems many people dont understand how a stop sign/ signal intersection works. Its odd but more and more recently whenever I come to a Stop of some sort its become more common for people to stop well past the white line. Im talking almost 1/3 to 1/4 into the intersection. Which if Im turning

Another peeve Ive got that i see alot of is people who straddle the lane. They are often trying to weave through traffic to get a fraction ahead of traffic but cant predict whats going to happen so they drive in the middle of 2 lanes so they can jump into one at the last second.
