Trying to attract what they feel is the DOA demographic? If they manage to sway even a few DOA customers with this, it'll be a good thing for them. In the end, it's all about money.

The Tekken series has always been one of my favorite fighters- with a good mixture of accessibility and a tremendous amount of depth for those that seek it, it remains one of (if not the most) competent fighters on the market. As of right now- it looks humorous and possibly fun, but the lack of depth wouldn't warrant anything more than a rental. The Wolverine game suffered from similar issues.
